Governor Paterson's Office of Taxpayer Accountability The Hudson River Valley Greenway is an innovative state agency created to facilitate the development of a voluntary regional strategy for preserving scenic, natural, historic, cultural and recreational resources while encouraging compatible economic development and maintaining the tradition of home rule for land use decision-making. Through voluntary participation in the Greenway community planning program, communities in thirteen counties in the Hudson River Valley can receive technical assistance and funding for local land use planning projects which support the goals of the Greenway program. The Great Hudson River Paddle is set to launch its 10th annual sojourn on July 29th. Paddlers will launch from Albany and pull into their final destination, Annsville Creek Paddlesport Center, on August 5th.
